ok so maybe i misinterpreted. here's what it says:

57. dring 1986 or 1987, linda vista had grown large enogh that it could divide into two distinct congregations. at that time, la jolla spanish congregation, which went on to become playa pacifica came into existence.

58. linda vista was the "parent congregation" of la jolla. this means that the complete membership originall comprising la jolla were former members of linda vista

both facts were undispted. i assumed those two points mean that linda vista split into linda vista and la jolla. eventually la jolla changed it's name to playa pacifica so that it became linda vista and playa pacifica.

i cold have definitely gotten it wrong and my apologies if i did.

th last i heard they where waiting to see who the new king of the noth was.

so, i'm new here and i've decided to finally tell my mom the truth about jws.. and sorry for the long post.

i'm at my wits end.. here's some background:.

i grew p in a congregation in california, i'm not a born in, though i was raised in it from 5 - about 20. arond 20 i pretty mch faded out, bt the emotional ups and downs were jst all too much.

lol love the thread. i need to watch 4, 5, 6 again it's been too long

yo uknow i kinda regret jusut out and out saying she was a bad parent.

on the one hand, she did her absolute best and sacrificed and all that. in that respect she was a good parent

however the bad really did outweigh the good and essentially i'm in the same spot i would have been had she been a terrible mother. i mean, the pyschological effects were ugh.

so in her fantasy world where this stuff is real, she was a good parent

in the real world, she still raised me in a cult withot doing due diligence and put me at risk for all sorts of awfl things. i look back and think, "how on earth would a responsible parent be ok with her 16 yr old son going off by himself to go preaching?" she doesn't know who i was working with. it's mind boggling, bt you jst accept it because 'it's the truth'.

Question: Why would the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society "launder" money?

i have a question for any legal or tax experts out there.

i have read a number of experiences about the wtbt$ moving money rapidly from one account to another.

overnight parking of huge sums, from one enity to another, to local congr, etc.

maybe the accounts and such are done to keep things hidden from the rank and file. there doesn't have to be an illegal operation going on for this to make sense to them.

we're on the outside and we know they're a crock of shit, yet even we can't follow the money trail so how much harder would it be for someone who doesn't even know to LOOK for something suspicious?

i think the anonymous stff mentioned in bank transfers and the ease/speed/no red flags that occurs. the jws are involved with hedge funds. they have god only knows how many corporations. seems like it's just good for business.

you're right, but i'm not bothering with another approach.

her tone and actions on the phone really showed me her mentality and she kept repeating that she was happy

all that tells me is that in her mind her happiness is more important than our relationship.

her happiness was more important than me finally being able to open up to her

her happiness was more important than me being able to ask simple questions

her happiness was more important than my upbringing (i left a lot out of the conversation, it really did turn ugly in some parts)

her happiness was more important than the fact she was bringing me to a place that actively hides child molestors and doesn't warn ppl

her happiness was more important than my safety out in field service. not like she really knew who i was working with all those times i went out by myself to the meeting for field service when i was a minor

her happiness was more important than the psychological damage raising me in an obvious cult withall sorts of lies and false teachings.

it's sad, and i should've expected that with all the theocratic warfare bs, but now i 100% see how ingrained she is and it's not healthy for me to be around that. i've been happier the past few months without her in my life than i ever was with her in my life and it's time for me to realize i need to start thinking about numero uno. i'm happier without her. she's happy with her lies. maybe we'll be happier without each other.

as far as what it's like, it is 100% like being a quaker, but no rummspringa. emotionally you are locked away in a quaker village even though you are physically right out in plain sight.
